Giants v Bulldogs
Friday 7:50pm at Canberra Oval

A replay of last year’s memorable preliminary final, Canberra fans are in for a treat when the Giants take on the Bulldogs to kick off Round 6.
Form
Greater Western Sydney have put to bed a Round 1 slipup against Adelaide with four straight victories including back-to-back wins over sixth-placed Port Adelaide and cross-town rivals Sydney. The Giants have been an attacking juggernaut over the last month averaging 121.75ppg over that run. No team has gotten closer than five goals since the Adelaide loss. The Giants have covered four of their five games.
Western Bulldogs have also won four of their first five yet the defending premiers have covered just once this year. Defensively the Bulldogs have been sound not conceding more than 90 points all season but there is some concern about their formline with their four wins coming against teams with a combined record of 2-18.
Stats That Matter
  • The Giants have won just 2 of the 7 clashes with the Bulldogs but are 4-3 ATS.
  • Five of the seven all-time clashes have gone under the total with no team cracking 100 in either match in 2016.
  • The Bulldogs have won all three matches in Canberra by an average of 24 points.
  • The Bulldogs have played teams with a combined record this year of 4-21 while the Giants have matched opponents with a combined record of 10-15.
  • The Giants have covered 11 of 16 all-time at Canberra Oval including their last four
  • The under has hit in 11 of the last 16 interstate games for the Bulldogs
  • The Bulldogs are 4-12 ATS as an interstate underdog of 20-plus
  • The Giants have covered four straight and 12 of their last 19 when favoured by more than three goals
Betting Data
2017 Line: GWS 4-1, Western Bulldogs 1-4
2017 Over-Under: GWS 3-2, Western Bulldogs 3-2
What To Expect
The Bulldogs have shot to 4-1 in their premiership defence but have been far from impressive, certainly not living up to the expectation of the market with just one cover. The Giants, pre-season favourites, have continued to improve with each outing. The Giants dominate clearances, winning in all five games this season, and their ability to win the tough ball should present them with enough opportunities to put the Bulldogs to the sword.

Player Markets
Jeremy Cameron has booted 19 goals in six outings against the Bulldogs, a team he typically matches up on very well. While he was well contained in the preliminary final, his previous five games against the Dogs had netted at least three goals. He has kicked four goals or more in two of five games this year.

Prop: Jeremy Cameron 4+ Goals ($2.55)
