Football Bet of the Day: Feel free to back Libertad

After a disappointing start to the week, Kev's in search of solace in Paraguay.

Title-chasers to win again

Libertad v Sportivo Luqueno
Wednesday 27 November, 21:00
It was an end-of-season party in Brazil last night, but we left without so much as a bag of sweets and a balloon, as our boys Brasil de Pelotas were well beaten by Ponte Preta.
Our South American adventure hasn't yielded a lot of fun so far, but we head with hope to Paraguay, because title challengers Libertad are up against Sportivo Luqueno, and the home side have put together a long winning streak on home soil.
Libertad are second in the standings in the Paraguayan Division Profesional, and have won their last ten home games in the league. During that sequence at the Estadio Dr Nicolas Leoz, they have kept seven clean sheets and have won by two goals or more on five occasions. This home form in Asuncion has underpinned their title charge - they are just four points off top spot.
Sportivo Luqueno lost at Libertad in the cup recently, and they have won just one of their last seven away games in the league. They are bottom of the table, with just four wins from 18 league matches. They have scored just 16 goals, giving them the second-worst attacking record in the competition.
Libertad certainly don't lack motivation, as they are pushing for the title, and their form at home is outstanding. I'll back them -1.0 on the Asian Handicap here at 2.20. A one-goal home win sees our stake returned, but a bigger margin of victory gives us an odds-against success.
