Spartak Moscow v Ufa
Friday 17:00
Just a single goal in Piura yesterday. Enough for Alianza Lima to spring a surprise, but not enough for our purposes.
Spartak Moscow, the self-proclaimed People's Team, are heavy favourites to start the new Premier League season with a win at home to Ufa this evening.
But the game against last season's 12th-placed finishers might not be entirely comfortable viewing for Spartak's new coach, Dmitri Alenichev.
Spartak, who ended up sixth last term, saw nine of their 15 home matches stay Under 2.5 Goals. The hosts scored more than twice in only three of those games - one of which was a meaningless last-day bonanza with Amkar Perm.
Ufa, meanwhile, kept 10/14 away matches below the goals line. Igor Kolyvanov's upstanding Citizens conceded more than twice in only two of those games - both of which were against top-four finishers.
Their own scoring record was hardly electric - they struck 13 times across the 14 matches - and it could be a slow start to the new season tonight.
