The Hawks have turned their form around after an inconsistent start to the season and will take a five-game unbeaten run to Launceston.
Until last weekend's 10-point victory over Collingwood, no team had got closer than 29 points to Hawthorn during their winning run.
The Dockers, meanwhile, have had four unconvincing wins either side of their 27-point loss to Richmond in round 10.
They had scrapped to seven-point victories over both Gold Coast and Collingwood before seeing off a battling Brisbane side by 36 points last time out thanks to a fourth-quarter surge.
Hawthorn go into the game deprived of key forward Jarryd Roughead, but Lyon is not worrying about the opposition's selection or their recent form.
"I don't get into theoretical models. It's another game of football; it's four points," he said.
"Opposition are really faceless in a sense every week because it's about how you play and how you prepare. It doesn't matter who you play."
Lyon is dismissing history as a factor in the game, despite the Dockers having lost six of their past seven meetings with Hawthorn.
He said: "Our football is about ourselves and improving because we can't be in the position we're in if we haven't improved and we don't play a brand of football that we think stands up."
Lyon pointed out that while the Hawks are missing Roughead after surgery to remove a melanoma, they have plenty of options without him.
He said the Dockers had come up with a flexible plan to take on Alastair Clarkson's side, in what is a highly significant game.
It pits the best attacking team in the AFL - Hawthorn, who are averaging 109 points - against a Fremantle team who have conceded an average of only 63 points.
Fremantle are 2.90 to beat the Hawks, who are 1.42. The Hawks are 1.93 conceding a 17.5 point start.
