Liverpool flew out to Bangkok yesterday to kick-off their pre-season tour without Raheem Sterling after a deal with Manchester City was agreed for his sale.
The 20-year-old will join the two-time Premier League champions, Man City, following a medical but it means that Liverpool now have a lot more money to spend and could do so.
Here’s a round-up of the latest Liverpool transfer rumours.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Liverpool have agreed a deal for the sale of Raheem Sterling. The England playmaker had a 53% shot accuracy last season. (Sky Sports)
Liverpool starlet Jerome Sinclair has rejected a contract offer from the club and has asked to leave. The young striker was handed his Premier League debut against Chelsea last season and was believed to have a bright future but now wants out, surprisingly. Sinclair created just one chance in the top flight. (ESPN)
Liverpool could be set to splash the cash raised from Raheem Sterling’s sale by making a huge move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentina striker could be set to leave Napoli this summer and the Reds have been linked with signing him. Higuain scored 18 goals in Serie A last season. (Metro)
Meanwhile, the Reds have no interest in Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev and all rumours linking them with a £22 million move are false. The winger spent last season on loan with Villarreal and has been linked with a move to Liverpool having assisted nine goals in the league. (Liverpool Echo)
Finally, Italian giants Lazio are closing in on the signing of Fabio Borini from Liverpool after he was left out of the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia. Borini was told last summer he had no future at the club but he turned down moves to Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers and scored just one Premier League goal for the Reds. (talkSPORT)
