Tributes for Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh will continue today when friends, family, players and other AFL representatives gather for a private memorial service.
Up to 2,000 people are expected to attend the 3:00pm service, which is to be held behind closed doors at Adelaide Oval.
Crows chief executive Andrew Fagan said the club was still working on plans for a permanent memorial.
He said the service would be an occasion for laughter, tears and stories about Walsh's life.
"It was actually just last weekend ... the guys writing down their own personal stories or sayings that Phil was famous for and what struck me heavily, or impacted me really heavily, was how many there were," Mr Fagan said.
"I think it's as much about a celebration and remembering fondly what he's been able to provide to us and the impact that he's made to us both individually and collectively."
Walsh died from multiple stab wounds after a domestic dispute at his Somerton Park home.
His 26-year-old son, Cy, has been charged with murder.
A private funeral was held last Friday at the chapel of Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart at Henley Beach in Adelaide's western suburbs.
Walsh played 122 VFL games across three clubs — Collingwood, Richmond and the Brisbane Bears — over seven years.
He began his coaching career at Geelong as a strength and conditioning coach before joining Port Adelaide for 10 years.
Walsh was instrumental in Port Adelaide's 2004 premiership win.
He then went on to spend five years at West Coast before returning to Port as an assistant coach in 2014.
In October last year, Walsh accepted the senior coach position at the Adelaide Crows.

Public grieves for coach

There has been an outpouring of grief from football fans and community members following Walsh's death.
Earlier this week, Crows staff carefully removed thousands of tributes including flowers, letters and sporting memorabilia left outside the club's headquarters.
They said the personal messages would be photographed and digitised to be made into two books for the Walsh family and the club.
The flowers will be mulched and used when planting a memorial tree in the future.
At least 10,000 people attended Adelaide Oval earlier this month on the day of the club's cancelled game to pay tribute to Walsh by holding a minute's silence, before walking around the ground or playing kick-to-kick.
After today's memorial, the Crows' focus will turn to Sunday's AFL Showdown match with Port Adelaide.
Members and supporters who missed out on tickets to the popular game will be able to watch the action at a special live site at Elder Park, where three screens will be set up.
The coverage will start with a special episode of The Crows Show at 1:30pm and continue with pre-game coverage and then the opening bounce at 2:50pm.
