NRL Preview
Manly Sea Eagles v Canterbury Bulldogs

Saturday, March 25, 4:30pm (AEDT), Lottoland, Sydney

The Sea Eagles produced the upset of the season so far, defeating the Cowboys 30-8 in Townsville. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs recorded their first win of the season, beating the inconsistent Warriors 24-12. Bulldogs coach Des Hasler will want to keep the vultures at bay, with a win over his former club here.
History
The Bulldogs have won six straight and 9 of the last 11 against the Sea Eagles. The Bulldogs have won 4 of the last 5 at Brookvale. The Bulldogs did the double over the Sea Eagles in 2016, winning the Round 1 clash 28-6 and Round 23 encounter 20-16. Bulldogs flyer Brett Morris scored a double in the Round 23 win.
Form
Manly enter this off the upset of the season, blowing North Queensland away 30-8 in Townsville after two embarrassing losses to open the season. The Sea Eagles were everywhere in defence and took their chances in attack in their most convincing display of the Trent Barrett era. Canterbury opened the season with back-to-back losses against quality teams before downing New Zealand in Dunedin on Friday. While losses to the Storm and Roosters finished close the Bulldogs were well beaten by both and were dominated for much of the game by the Warriors but stood firm defensively in a gritty display.
Key Matchup
Daly Cherry-Evans v Moses Mbye. Both of these halves have been under immense pressure and both of them played their best games of the season in Round 3. Cherry Evans had a hand in a try in the win over the Cowboys and provided plenty of direction for his side. Mbye received 3 Dally M points in the win over the Warriors and consistency will be his biggest hurdle to overcome. He started last season with a bang, scoring 3 tries and providing 6 try-assists in the first four rounds. The Bulldogs hopes this season rely on Mbye and Josh Reynolds finding their best.
Stats That Matter
Manly are 1-2 ATS with a 2-1 under record while Canterbury are 2-1 ATS with a 2-1 under number. Canterbury have won six straight and 9 of the last 11 against Manly. The Bulldogs have won 4 of the last 5 at Brookvale. Manly have not broken 17 points in their last six against the Bulldogs. Canterbury are 17-9 under after scoring 24 or more points. Manly have covered just 2 of their last 9 at Brookvale Oval while they have failed to cover their last six as an underdog at the ground.
Final Thoughts
The Sea Eagles will be on a high after their upset win over the Cowboys, but the Bulldogs have the wood on them. It’s worth noting that Cowboys pack was understrength, with Matt Scott and Jason Taumalolo missing. The Sea Eagles will welcome back Martin Taupau from suspension, but it won’t be enough to overcome the physical Bulldogs pack. The Bulldogs to make it seven straight over the men from the Northern Beaches.
