Scotland

This friendly at Easter Road gives the Scots a chance to regain some confidence after three World Cup qualifiers without a win.

Having kicked off their campaign with a 5-1 win over Malta, they've since drawn at home to Lithuania and then lost to both Slovakia and England. As a result Scotland are fifth in Group F and now simply must beat Slovenia on Sunday if they are to have any hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.

Gordon Strachan is likely to use the game against Canada to rest some players before the crucial clash with Slovenia. The under pressure manager has named four uncapped players in his squad, as he looks to add some young blood to a 28-man squad of which 15 are aged 29 or over.

Liam Cooper of Leeds, Celtic's Stuart Armstrong, Fulham's Tom Cairney and Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth are the new players hoping to make their debuts in the next week.

Canada

Scotland's World Cup hopes might be hanging by a thread, but Canada have already been eliminated from theCONCACAF qualification process.

Drawn into a tough group alongside Mexico and Honduras, Canada narrowly missed out on a place in the next stage of qualifying, with an away draw at El Salvador ultimately costing them second place.

This failure has resulted in a change of coach, with the Ecuadorian Octavio Zambrano having been appointed as Canada's new manager on Friday. The former LA Galaxy coach has named three Scottish-based players in his first squad, picking Dundee's Marcus Haber and Fraser Aird and Luca Gasparotto from Falkirk.

Another player who will be familiar is Burnley's Scott Arfield. A regular for the Clarets in the Premier League this season, Arfield won 17 caps for the Scotland U21 side and played for the Scottish B team, before switching his allegiances to Canada last year. The midfielder qualifies for Canada as his father was born in Toronto.

Match Odds

Scotland are the heavy favourites at 1.41, with the draw at4.80 and Canada at 10.50.

Even though Scotland are likely to rotate their team they're justifiable favourites. Canada won their last game against Bermuda, but in their previous two matches against better opposition - South Korea and Morocco - they were well beaten.

The Koreans won 2-0 and Morocco 4-0 and on both occasions Canada were losing at half-time. Therefore the2.12 on offer for Scotland to win Half-Time/Full-Timelooks like good value.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals

Unders is the favourite at 1.79, with overs at 2.12.

Over 2.5 goals is tempting at that price, but the doubt comes from the fact that none of Scotland's strikers are prolific at international level and in some cases are not even playing regularly for their clubs.

A safer bet could be for Scotland to keep a Clean Sheet. While they have failed to do so for six games, that run included matches against the likes of Italy, France and England. With Canada failing to score against USA, Mexico (twice), Morocco and South Korea in 2016, it could be time for Scotland to keep a rare clean sheet at 1.73.
