Melbourne City v Perth – (Fri 7:50pm)
Perth’s loss at home has The Wolf concerned. They were unable to get a foot into the game as Melbourne completely dominated the centre of the park. Now they go back on the road where they have collected just a single point from their last 5 away games. They are one of the worst defensive sides in the A-League when it comes to playing away from home and we have seen them concede multiple goals in all 4 away games this season – 11 in total. Breaking down City will be a difficult task. They have allowed only 2 goals at home this season with Sydney FC the only side to take all 3 points away from AAMI Park. Perth have a history of playing well at the venue with 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 at the ground. There has been an unbelievable amount of goals in their recent meetings with 4 or more in 7 of the last 9 encounters. With a total of 41 goals in those 9 clashes it would take a brave man to back anything other than the Overs.
Best Bet: Over 3.5 goals ($2.35)
Value Bet: Over 4.5 goals ($4.25)
Wellington v Central Coast – (Sat 5:35pm)The Phoenix showed that they are a different side at home when they put 5 past Perth a fortnight ago. This week they will be as fresh as a daisy after their clash with the Wanderers was postponed. They are undefeated in their last 6 A-League home matches, have scored in all 6 of those matches with 3 or more in 4 of them! If there is one thing we have come to learn it is that the Nix are a goal scoring machine at home and consistently under-rated by the bookies. They did the double over the Mariners at home last season and Paul Okon’s side are far from good travelers. Winless in their last 7 away games, the Mariners have not been able to find a way to consistently score away from home. We have seen them held scoreless in 5 of their last 12 away games but their confidence is slowly growing. It won’t grow fast enough to get a result this weekend and they will have a tough time stopping Kaluderovic who has 4 goals in his last two home games. Wellington are a different beast at home and Wolfy says to stick with them.
Best Bet: Wellington WIN ($1.95)
Value Bet: Wellington Over 2.5 goals ($3.20)
Sydney FC v Brisbane – (Sat 7:50pm)
The Sky Blues midweek success will come at a price. In what was a epic 2-1 win over Adelaide in the FFA Cup Final they had Ninkovic, Zullo and Mierzejewski all pull up with injuries. As a result we will see a very patient Sydney FC – there is no way they will push the pace in this one! Buijs, Wilkinson, Brilliante, Bobo and O’Neill all logged 120 minutes of football and after what was already a short turnaround we could see it take it’s toll. The Wolf will not write them off no matter who Arnold starts with and will give the best side in the country the credit they deserve. He also says to pay no consideration to any prior meetings as this is a very unique scenario. Sydney will be without key attacking players and will be relying on their defence to keep them in this game. The tempo will be slow and measured with the Sky Blues to go forward in limited numbers. It makes the Unders a money play and The Wolf is shocked to see the price on offer!!!
Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals ($2.25)

Value Bet: 1st Half Correct Score 0-0 ($3.25)
Adelaide v Western Sydney – (Sun 7:00pm)The Reds find themselves in a similar difficult position to Sydney FC but with one additional problem – additional travel time. It is tough to bounce back on the best of days but after going 120 minutes with Sydney they were SPENT!!! Michael Marrone will spend some time on the sidelines and The Wolf will be surprised if Matmour and Isaias can back up. Absalonsen didn’t make an appearance midweek meaning he is unlikely to take part just a few days later. There is rarely anything between these two when they face off with 5 of the last 7 ending in a draw. In star contrast this will be the Reds 3rd game in a little over a week and the Wanderers first in over a fortnight. Western Sydney have taken the lead in 5 of their 6 matches this season and just haven’t been able to hold on. They look value and The Wolf is going to back them.
Best Bet: Western Sydney WIN ($2.50)
Value Bet: HT/FT – WSW/WSW ($4.20)

Best Bets Round 8

Best Bet: Sydney FC v Brisbane – Under 2.5 goals ($2.25)
Best Value Bet: HT/FT – WSW/WSW ($4.20)
