Maximum points a must for Napoli
Napoli remain unbeaten in Serie A, but their Champions League campaign is not running nearly so smoothly.
Maurizio Sarri's side are two points clear of Inter at the top of Serie A and won again at the weekend with a 2-1 victory over AC Milan. In contrast, their hopes of making the last-16 of the Champions League remains in the balance, having got off to a poor start in the reverse fixture between these sides. Indeed, they are a healthy shade of odds-against to qualify from the group.
Shakhtar pulled off a shock in Ukraine by beating Napoli 2-1 and with the Italians having subsequently lost both of their games against Manchester City, they simply must win this one. Napoli need maximum points from their last two games to stand any chance of finishing level on points with Shakhtar.
Just a point for Shakhtar in either of their remaining games would secure their place in the knockout stages, but they suffered a surprise loss at the weekend at home to Oleksandria.
Napoli need a dominant performance
Napoli are the 1.46 favourites, with the draw at 5.30 and Shakhtar at 7.60.
Not only is it important for Napoli to win, but they must also do so by a bigger margin than Shakhtar managed in the reverse fixture. If they are tied on points, the goal difference in the matches between the two clubs will come into play, so Napoli really need to win by two goals or more.
