Lack of goals a long-term worry for Newcastle

Newcastle's solid start to the season has hit a difficult patch of late, with the Magpies having lost their last three games.
Rafa Benitez and his team have now only won one of their last seven Premier League outings, which has seen them slide down to eleventh in the table. That's a position that they should be perfectly happy with at this stage of the season, but the downward spiral is a worrying trend that could see Newcastle dragged into the relegation scrap.
Only five points currently separates Newcastle from the bottom three. Their chief problem at the moment is a lack of goals, with the side having scored only two in their last four games. St James' Park has been the home of many top strikers over the years, but the current alumni don't seem up to the task of scoring at the top level.
Benitez will surely hope the proposed takeover of the club happens swiftly enough for him to be able to address Newcastle's issues in the January transfer market. Until then he must make do with the squad that he's got, which this weekend will be minus the services of Christian Atsu, Paul Dummett, Isaac Hayden, Jamaal Lascelles and Mikel Merino.

How long can Watford keep Silva in the family?

The turnover of managers at Watford has been rapid in recent years, but the constant changes have tended to come on the owners' terms.
Now the Hornets face the prospect of losing their current manager Marco Silva, because of good results rather than bad ones. Just months after appointing Silva in the summer, Watford have already had to reject an approach from Everton for their manager and the Merseysiders are unlikely to be the last club to show interest in Silva if Watford maintain their form.
Even if Silva's stay at Watford does look like it's going to be short, the club will hope that he can keep things sweet. The danger for them is that if it looks like he will be leaving either during the season or in the summer, that players will switch off and results will suffer.
For now Watford's players remain very much switched on, though an increasing number are unavailable. Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah, Femenia, Tommy Hoban, Younes Kaboul and Isaac Success are all injured, while Troy Deeney is suspended.

Watford can continue fine form on road

Newcastle are the 2.28 favourites, with the draw at 3.45 and Watford at 3.60.
It's a surprise to see Watford so short when they are out of form, especially as Watford have been good on the road this season. Watford have avoided defeat in four of their six away games (winning three) and even in their recent losses to Chelsea and Everton, they scored two goals and came very close to winning.
With that in mind, backing Watford at 2.56 in the Draw No Bet market seems like a relatively safe investment.

Watford can give Newcastle double trouble

Under 2.5 Goals is the favourite at 1.89, with overs at 2.04.
Overs is too big when you consider that Watford have scored exactly two goals in each and every of their six away games in the Premier League.
Newcastle are good defensively but they could be bruised from conceding four at Manchester United last weekend. Back Watford to score Over 1.5 Goals at 3.20.
