Premier League : Everton 13/2 for Relegation following St Mary's hiding

Everton are now as short as 7.40 in the Relegation market following a hugely disappointing 4-1 defeat at Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Going into the game on the back of conceding five goals at home to Atalanta in the Europa League the Toffees were still under the caretaker management of David Unsworth, though his chances of landing the job on a permanent basis surely disappeared with an embarrassing defeat to a team that had failed to score a goal in 10 of their previous 13 home games.

The defeat was Everton's eighth in their last 11 games in all competitions and they've tasted victory just once in their last dozen matches.

Despite the Toffees' lowly league position and poor current form no less than eight clubs still trade shorter than the Merseyside outfit to be relegated with Swansea heading the market at 1.41 following Saturday's goalless draw with Bournemouth.

Crystal Palace were the big winners at the bottom end of the table, scoring late on to snatch victory over Stoke on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles are out to 2.62 to be relegated, just behind Huddersfield at 2.28, and ahead of West Ham, 2.80, West Brom, 3.50, and Brighton, 5.00.

More dropped points for Top 4 contenders but City march on

Tottenham lost more points in the title race as they could manage just a 1-1 draw at home to West Brom on Saturday, while Liverpool and Chelsea also played out a 1-1 draw meaning all three clubs ended the weekend further behind league leaders Manchester City.

Following the Citizens' 2-1 win at Huddersfield - Pep Guardiola's men are now just 1.16 to win the Premier League title - it's increasingly looking like the five other 'big six' clubs are now fighting it out for the three remaining Top 4 Finish positions.

Manchester United - available to back at 1.26 - are currently in pole position in that race after recording an edgy 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday, while Chelsea, 1.46, remain third following their point at Anfield.

But it's Spurs who drop out of the top four after their draw with the Baggies as north London rivals Arsenal snatched a dramatic late winner at Burnley on Sunday afternoon to climb up to fourth.

The Gunners can be backed at 2.22 to be in the top four at the end of the season, while Tottenham can be backed at 1.86, and Liverpool at 1.96.

Newcastle slump continues

In the weekend's other games Newcastle fell to a fourth consecutive defeat when they were beaten 3-0 at St James' Park by Watford on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies fell to 14th in the table, just four points above the drop zone, and could attract some support in the Relegation market at 6.20 given the club is currently up for sale and it's is reported that they have no money to spend in January under their current ownership.

The Hornets on the other hand stay eighth in the table and can currently be backed at around 1.50 to record a Top 10 Finish.
