The games are coming thick and fast but Neil Monnery doesn't need to slow down. He's already prepared his weekly list of players to like and avoid ahead of GW18...

Eight to like

Wayne Rooney - £7.4m. Ever since Big Sam waltzed into town, the former England skipper has been a fantasy gold mine. Five goals to go along with an assist since that West Ham game has made Rooney the best value for money striker over the past few weeks. Swansea at home this weekend is another favourable match-up.
Marko Arnautovic - £6.8m. He finally broke his West Ham duck last weekend and had a goal disallowed against Arsenal in the week. It feels like the Austrian midfielder is heating up. Being a bit of a streaky player seems to be in his DNA but that is why you've got to pounce on him when he's hot. Stoke City on Saturday is one where you like the odds of him scoring once more.

Willian - £6.6m. Is Antonio Conte the type of manager to drop a player who scored and nabbed two assists in his past game? Sadly quite possibly but if you think he's not that type of gaffer, then buy into Willian big time for a cracking price. Considering Leicester just put four past Southampton, a motivated Chelsea team could beat that.

Everton Defenders - Various. I've already spoken about Wayne Rooney's turnaround since the appointment of the one-game England manager. When you look at their defence though, they've quietly rolled off three clean sheets from four. Neither Jonjoe Kenny or Mason Holgate are even £4.5m. Huge potential for very cheap defensive points.

Luke Shaw - £4.9m. On paper this guy should be one of the highest points scorers in fantasy. A marauding left-back who plays on a good team is someone you'd always go for. His two problems are injuries and his manager clearly isn't convinced by him. Well the former issue has gone away for a bit and as for the latter, he played well against Bournemouth in the week. Has he played well enough to get a second EPL start of the season? We'll find out but if he has, at £4.9m he's a no brainer.
Glenn Murray - £5.7m. This is one of those totally gut feel picks. Burnley have started to get serious praise for their performances this season and when that happens, a team tends to nosedive. They travel to Brighton on Saturday, where Glenn Murray was rested for the trip to Spurs in the week. I fully expect him to return to the starting XI and for Sean Dyche's men to put in their worst performance of the season.

Demarai Gray - £5.3m. I've been a fan of this chap for a while and his performances are now fantasy worthy. Goals in back-to-back games before the trip to Southampton in the week shows us that he's in form. Leicester are scoring seemingly for fun at the moment so take a good long look at all their forward thinking options.

Jack Wilshere - £5.4m. Here's what we know about Arsenal. They are pretty darn good at home and well, the polar opposite when not at the Emirates. They are back in front of their own fans on Saturday to face one of the worst Newcastle teams in living memory. If Aaron Ramsey is still out, I suspect Jack Wilshere gets the nod for the second game in a row. At just £5.4m, that is a bargain.

Two to avoid

Harry Kane - £12.9m. Yes, the most expensive player is one to avoid this week. Manchester City away is the toughest match-up on the schedule. Spurs don't seem to be playing great at the moment either. If you already have him in your team, don't drop him but if you are looking to bring him in, wait a week.

Tammy Abraham - £5.9m. One of my favourite players coming into the season, the Chelsea loanee hit the ground running with four goals in his first eight games. He hasn't hit the back of the net since. 9.9% of teams have the youngster and it might well be time to look elsewhere for a third striker.

Captain's pick

Liverpool have only scored once in the two home games in the past few days. That is extremely disappointing. Going on the road to a team that like to play football means lots of break opportunities. I like all of the Liverpool stars here and you have to start giving serious thought to Vardy or Mahrez as well. Arsenal are back at home so they'll probably win big so plenty of captain options at the Emirates.
