Zidane spell is not producing old magic

Real Madrid continue to frustrate just when you think that they've found some consistency.
When they last played Galatasaray they had just lost 1-0 their first La Liga game of the season away at Mallorca. Real recovered by beating Gala 1-0 and then crushing Leganes 5-0, but at the weekend they passed up the chance to go top of the league when they drew 0-0 at home with Real Betis.
These unexpected results have popped up all season and it certainly makes it difficult to back Madrid with any conviction, given that their prices tend to reflect the club's glorious history, rather than the current mediocre reality. Zinedine Zidane's second spell at the club is not proving to be a huge success, but neither is it the type of unmitigated failure that sparks a change of manager.
Unconvincing as Real are, they look to be headed for the last-16 of the Champions League and are in the title race in Spain. That's more than can be said for Galatasaray, who are bottom of Group A and are only seventh in Turkey's Super Lig.

Both teams are defensively sound

Real Madrid are unreliable when it comes to results, but they are proving to be consistent defensively. They have now kept three successive clean sheets and only two teams have conceded less than their nine goals in La Liga this season.
The odds of 1.97 for a Real Madrid clean sheet appeal, but can't compare with the generous prices for this to be a low scoring match. There has been a total of two goals scored in Galatasaray's three Champions League games. Under 2.5 goals is available at 3.25 and is a bet that has landed in six of Real's last nine matches.
