Only an injury time equaliser stopped Valencia beating Lille in October and Dan Fitch thinks that this time they will secure a much needed victory.

Valencia get back to winning ways

With Chelsea playing Ajax on Tuesday night, there is a chance for Valencia to make up lost ground in Group H when they host Lille.
After getting off to a perfect start by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Valencia have only added one more point to their total. They came close to beating Lille in the reverse fixture, but having gone down to ten men, conceded an injury time equaliser that left them trailing both Chelsea and Ajax by two points.
Victories have been rare for Valencia in recent weeks. Their 2-1 win at Espanyol on Saturday in which they had to come from behind, ended a winless run of four matches (D3 L1).
Lille have only won one of their last seven (D3 L3), losing 2-1 to Marseille over the weekend. That poor run of form has seen them slip to fifth in Ligue 1 and pick up only one point from their three Champions League games.

Valencia will claim victory at second time of asking

Valencia came within seconds of beating Lille in the away match and there's no reason to think that they won't get the job done at home.
Though Valencia have been struggling in La Liga of late, their three match run without a win saw them take on a trio of top half teams. Draws with sides as accomplished as Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are hardly a disgrace.
Lille were beaten by both Ajax and Chelsea. They probably would have been beaten again by Valencia, had Mouctar Diakhaby not been sent off and handed the French side an advantage. Odds of 1.89 for a Valencia victory look pretty tempting.
