What To Expect
Gold Coast’s hopes of playing finals this season rest on the fitness of their superstar Gary Ablett. Ablett returns for his first game of 2017 after shoulder surgery and coaches, players and fans alike hope he can get through unscathed. The Suns have selected their strongest squad of the pre-season campaign and will be looking to knock off the premiers here on home soil. The Bulldogs have the luxury of welcoming back over half a dozen premiership players for this clash, including superstar Marcus Bontempelli for his first game of 2017. The traders have placed a line of -12.5 here for the Dogs and the Wolf thinks this is not enough. While there is home ground advantage for the Suns who have beaten the dogs twice in three games at Metricon, the Dogs are a different outfit to their sides of the past and will have too much class in this one.
