Damn Darmstadt. Or so Kev says, after they blighted his Easter weekend with a 2-1 win over Schalke.
We're hoping for a good Monday in Spain. Fifth-placed Villarreal have lost once in nine on the road, winning 4/5 most recently. But, with the Basques of Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad still within a couple of points, they need to keep winning.
As in most recent seasons, the Yellow Submarine's success has been built on rock-solid defence. They've conceded just three times across all of those nine away games we mentioned. A clean sheet here and they would match Atletico Madrid as Spain's best defence (24 conceded in 32).
On that firm foundation, we're preparing to launch an Asian handicap bet. Hosts Alaves are safely in mid-table and have little left to play for this season. They've lost their last three without scoring and could make that four in a row against stronger, more committed opposition at Mendizorrotza Stadium tonight.
