There appears to still be a tiny glimmer of hope for United fans, as Ramos and Madrid are still at loggerheads over the new deal which they supposedly agreed upon a fortnight ago.
Despite Ramos initially agreeing to the new deal tabled by Madrid, according to Cadena Ser, they’ve now reached a new disagreement: Ramos won’t accept the 8.5m euros on offer, and won’t settle for anything less than 10m euros net per year.
United were ready to offer Ramos 12m euros a year, but Ramos finally rejected their advances by agreeing to a 9m euro-a-year deal.
But it looks as though Madrid have moved the goalposts, and are trying to skimp on half a million euros.
Cadena Ser add that Ramos is concerned that he’s yet to receive a call from President Florentino Perez in order to put the issue to bed.
