The hosts are rooted to the bottom of the Airtricity Premier Division following a miserable run of 13 matches without a victory, with five of their last six ending in defeat. They now have just 11 games to save themselves, otherwise they will be back in the second tier.
Their opponents are flirting with the relegation zone as they are only above the bottom three by one point. They are at least showing some fighting spirit though as they have lost only one of their last five and their two most recent outings ended in victory.
The problem for Drogheda has been putting the ball in the net. They have failed to score in each of their last six on this ground, and aside from a 6-0 hammering they took from Dundalk, all the other four saw this selection land.
The visitors lost 1-0 the last time they were away from home and three of their last five on the road have ended with two goals or fewer. They will no doubt fancy their chances of ending a seven game winless away run today, but they arguably won't have to score too many to achieve it.
I definitely believe that under 2.5 is more likely than the over in this one, so with over 2.5 goals trading at around the 1.87 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
