Benoit Paire v Nicolas Kicker
The Argentine delivered in spades against Haas last night and The Wolf says we will be rallying behind him again when he takes on Paire. The Frenchman has a losing record on clay over the last two seasons and Wolfy loved what he saw from Kicker in his first match. He has the ability to consistently crush forehands from the back of the court so look for that to be a feature in this match. Paire’s forehand is a glaring weakness and it is more likely to get exposed on clay with longer rallies. The Wolf will be backing Kicker with the start and for the outright win.

Paolo Lorenzi v Ernests Gulbis
It has been a good few months for veteran Italian Paolo Lorenzi. The 35 year old won a Challenger event prior to the grass court swing and made the final of Umag last week when the tour returned to the red dirt. He was comfortable without being challenged in his opening match and as a man that knows how to play on this surface he has the ability to really frustrate Gulbis. As we have seen in the past, Gulbis has serious difficulties dealing with players who make a lot of ball back. The Wolf says this game should be a coin flip at best and on a clay court he is very happy with taking the Italian.
