Vasas v Beitar Jerusalem
Thursday July 06, 19:30

In a departure from the norm, there are two Bets of the Day today, and you can read a preview of Shamrock Rovers v Stjarnan here. In this column, we'll focus on another Europa League qualifier, as Hungarian side Vasas Budapest take on Israeli outfit Beitar Jerusalem.

Vasas are enjoying their first European campaign since 2000, having finished third in the Hungarian top flight last season. German coach Michael Oenning has found a home, having struggled a few years ago in the Bundesliga with Hamburg. Vasas finished last season with a flurry of goals, and this season's games have been similar. Stretching back into last season and including some lively pre-season friendlies, Vasas have seen eight of their last ten games feature three goals or more.

Beitar Jerusalem are in the box seat after winning the first leg 4-3 in Israel. Beitar finished third in their domestic league last season, and that first match against Varas was their opening game of the campaign. Beitar were in big trouble at one stage, as they were 3-1 down in the 88th minute, but remarkably they fought back to win.

Vasas must push for a win to turn the tie around, and both teams showed defensive frailties in the first leg. I'm going for goals again.
