Progres Niederkorn v Rangers

In Norway last night we landed the kind of hammer blow that Thor himself would have been proud of. We opposed the Eliteserien leaders Rosenborg at Kristiansund, and although things looked a bit ropey when the visitors went 2-0 up, they eventually needed a last-gasp equaliser from Nicklas Bendtner (yes, the Lord himself) to salvage a 3-3 draw.

To Luxembourg now, because the quest for European group-stage football has already begun. Scottish giants Rangers will take a 1-0 lead to Progres Niederkorn after they won their first European match at Ibrox for six years. Pedro Caixinha's men created plenty of chances in Glasgow, and should really have a more commanding advantage.

Progres are only fourth in Luxembourg's top flight, and they have only scored one goal in their last 13 European matches. Domestically, however, they are scoring for fun. Progres have netted 21 times in their last five league matches, and you have to go back to mid-December for the last time they failed to score in a league game. Defensively they have been springing leaks though, letting in ten goals in the last five league outings.

Rangers don't have any fresh injury worries, and new signings Eduardo Herrera and Carlos Pena will travel to Luxembourg, having missed the first leg

The Light Blues will be confident of scoring this evening, but did give up a couple of chances at Ibrox, and may well do so again. Progres have a terrible scoring record in Europe but a strong one domestically, so I'm happy to back both teams to find the net.
