Stormers v Sunwolves
Sunday 3:30am
at DHL Newlands, Cape Town
The Sunwolves are bouncing back from the single largest defeat in Super Rugby history. It doesn’t get much easier when they face the Stormers in Cape Town.
Selection News
Some massive inclusions for the Stormers with Springbok stars Damien De Allende, Eben Etzebeth and captain Siya Kolisi returning after being rested in their win over the Cheetahs last week in Bloemfontein. Other changes see World under 20s player of the year Juarno Augustus make his debut at flanker while Dillyn Nelds returns at fullback.
The Sunwolves are expected to name a similar side to the one that was thumped at the hands of the Lions last weekend.
Last time they met
25/3/17 – Stormers 44 – 31 Sunwolves
Key Match-Up
Sam Wykes vs Eben Etzebeth
Veteran Australian second rower Sam Wykes will be out to prove he has still got what it takes to match it with the best when he opposes Eben Etzebeth. Etzebeth was outstanding in the Springboks recent test series against the French and the Wolf expects he will pinch more than a few of the Sunwolves line outs on Sunday morning (AEST).
The form
Where to now for the Sunwolves? After losing 94-7 at the hands of the Lions last weekend they now face the dangerous Stormers in Cape Town. The men from Japan have just the one win so far this season and will be desperate to prevent a cricket score at Newlands. The Stormers got a big win last week against the Cheetahs after having a rather rough run in recent times. They sit atop the African 2 conference and are guaranteed a home final.
How it’s shaping
This game will only go one way. The Stormers by plenty…
Final Thoughts
