PSG suffer first defeat of the season to give Bayern hope

With Bayern Munich having won the reverse fixture 3-0, it will be very hard for them to win Group B, but they can nevertheless endeavour to prove that they can be a force in this season's Champions League.
The reign of Carlo Ancelotti ended after that defeat in Paris. With Jupp Heynckes returning to the club as his successor, Bayern went on a nine match unbeaten run that recently ended with defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach. At the weekend they bounced back from that defeat with a 3-1 win against Hannover and lead the Bundesliga by six points.
They will now attempt to gain a victory against PSG that would see them tie for points with the French giants and perhaps more importantly lay down a marker as they approach the business end of the competition. Bayern will be encouraged by the fact that PSG lost their first match of the season at the weekend, with Unai Emery's side being defeated 2-1 by Strasbourg.
Despite the loss, PSG still lead Ligue 1 by nine points. With their season likely to be defined by their progress in the Champions League, they will be taking this game very seriously, even though they only have to avoid a four goal defeat in order to win the group.

Cavani could be a big loss for PSG

Bayern Munich are the 2.52 favourites, with PSG at 2.88 and the draw out at 3.85.
PSG looked poor against Strasbourg without the injured Edison Cavani and the Uruguayan is set to miss this match too. Bayern's price is big enough to make the home win in the Draw No Bet market an option at 1.86, while the draw itself is tempting due to the large price and the fact that neither side really need a win.
