Leipzig relying on Monaco

RB Leipzig can make the last-16 of the Champions League, but they must hope that results elsewhere go their way.

The Germans are third in Group G and level with second placed Porto on seven points, but the 3-1 defeat in Portugal on Matchday four has left them with an inferior head-to-head record. To progress Leipzig need to beat Besiktas and hope that Porto fail to defeat Monaco.

A potential issue for Leipzig is that although the group winners Besiktas have nothing to play for, neither do rock bottom Monaco. Another concern is that they come into this match off the back of a heavy defeat, after being thrashed 4-0 by Hoffenheim at the weekend.

In contrast, Besiktas are on a high after beating Galatasaray 3-0 on Saturday. They are now unbeaten in ten matches and are also undefeated in their five Champions League games this season.

Could Besiktas upset the odds again?

RB Leipzig are the favourites at 1.33, with the draw at 6.00 and Besiktas at 11.00.

While Leipzig are clearly the more motivated of the two sides and there is the potential for Senol Gunes to rotate his team, it's hard to be too enthusiastic about RBL at these prices. Besiktas after all have been underestimated in every one of their Champions League games and have won both of their away matches in the competition.

With the pressure on a Leipzig team that have just suffered a heavy defeat, the 4.00 on offer for Besiktas in the Double Chance market and the price of the draw are both appealing.
