Elation or heartbreak for Roma?

Roma find themselves in the curious position of both being able to win their group and also facing possible elimination from the Champions League.

To win Group C, Roma must defeat Qarabag and hope that Atletico Madrid beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. However, should Atletico win and Roma only draw, then the Spaniards will snatch their place in the last-16.

Roma find themselves in this position after losing their last Champions League outing away at Atletico, 2-0. Yet that is their sole defeat in the last ten games, with Eusebio Di Francesco's team winning 3-1 at home to SPAL at the weekend, which cut the gap between themselves and the Serie A leaders Inter to just five points.

They should be confident then of beating a Qarabag side that have not won in the Champions League this season. Roma won the reverse fixture 2-1, which could prove to be a crucial result, considering that Atletico drew both of their matches against the Azerbaijan outfit.

Back repeat of early goals

Roma are the 1.11 favourites, with the draw at 13.50 and Qarabag at 34.00.

Those are very slim odds, which make both the options of Roma to win half-time/full-timeat 1.39 and for Roma to win to nil at 1.62, pretty unappealing.
