Cabinteely v Shelbourne
Friday 21 July, 19:45

For the second night running, we were Danny DeVito, that is to say we were a bit short. The 1-1 draw between HJK and Shkendjia left us needing one more goal, but we're still in profit for the week.

A change of tack tonight, as we make the move to the Republic of Ireland's second tier. Cabinteely are up against Shelbourne, and the market can't decide between them, which will give us the chance to back the visitors with a bit of insurance.

Cabinteely, based in the capital Dublin, have a modest history. They only made their League of Ireland debut two years ago, and they finished seventh in the second tier last season. This time around, they are sixth, but their win against Cobh Ramblers last time out was their first since the end of May.

Cabinteely have proven tough to beat on home soil of late, but they haven't won many games either. They have only won two of their last seven league matches at Stradbrook Road.

Tonight's visitors Shelbourne are more illustrious, having won the league title 13 times. However, financial problems have hit the club hard since the turn of the millennium, and their proud history of competing in Europe is becoming an increasingly distant memory.

That said, Shels' form has been decent of late, especially on the road. They have taken ten points from their last five games, and have won their last three away matches. Although they lost the most recent meeting against Cabinteely, they have won on their last five visits to face them in the capital.
