Perfect debut for United's £90m man

Manchester United have shortened to 3.90 in the Premier League Winner market after opening their campaign with a thoroughly emphatic 4-0 win over West Ham, with their big summer signing Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace on his debut.

After a slightly sluggish start United went ahead just after the half hour mark when Lukaku latched onto a Marcus Rashford through ball before slamming the ball home at the near post.

Jose Mourinho's men needed a David De Gea save on the stroke of half-time to preserve their lead but that's about as dangerous as it got for the home side who doubled their lead when Lukaku headed home shortly after the interval. Late goals from substitute Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba sealed a comprehensive victory for the Red Devils.

Following his brace Lukaku was available to back at 3.70 to be the league's Top Goalscorer, just ahead of Harry Kane, 4.00, and Sergio Aguero, 7.60.

Stroll for Spurs after Shelvey's moment of madness

Tottenham started the new season just as they finished the last with a comfortable away victory thanks to a 2-0 win over newly-promoted Newcastle at St James' Park.

Last season's runners-up barely threatened in a pedestrian first half but the game burst into life early in the second when Newcastle captain Jonjo Shelvey inexplicably stood on the ankle of Dele Alli in full view of the referee, resulting in a straight red card.

And it didn't take long for Mauricio Pochettino's men to push home their numerical advantage with goals from Alli and Ben Davies - both assisted by the excellent Christian Eriksen - putting them in a commanding position to see the game out.

Harry Kane almost added a third on the stroke of full-time but last season's leading goalscorer saw his placed shot rebound off the far post.

Following the defeat Newcastle can be backed at 3.85 in the Relegation market. Yesterday's surprise winners Huddersfield remain the favourites at 2.02 ahead of Brighton, 2.24, and Burnley 2.60.
