Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his side are now capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Gunners boss is convinced his team are finally in a position to end Chelsea’s reign as Premier League champions, whilst also dismissing claims that the Stamford Bridge club possess a mental hold over his side.
Arsenal have not won the title since 2004 – the year Jose Mourinho arrived in London – but Arsene Wenger, who has never beaten his Chelsea rival, told the Independent: "We don’t have that [a mental weakness]. You [the media] created that. I don’t believe in that. When you have a good enough team, you beat them."
The arrival earlier this month of goalkeeper Petr Cech along with the signings of Mesut Ozil and  Alexis Sanchez over the last two summer transfer windows has led to an air of optimism around the Emirates that this year could be their year.
That optimism is shared by the Arsenal boss who is promising to fight all the way to try and achieve their objective of becoming Premier League Champions.
"Will we win the title this season? You cannot guarantee that in the Premier League. I just say we want to. I promise we will fight to win. A manager has to take the best potential out of the team he has. At the end of the day I know where the team can be at the end of the season." Wenger said.
Arsenal will join Manchester rivals City and United as the clubs who have a realistic chance of taking the title away from Stamford Bridge next season. It all begins August 8th, we can’t wait.
