Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique says the club have no intention of loaning out recent signing Arda Turan.

Turkey captain Turan moved to the Nou Camp from Atletico Madrid earlier this month but will not be able to make his debut until January when the club's FIFA-imposed transfer ban ends.

Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu said last week there was a "possibility" that the 28-year-old could go on a short-term loan deal to a club not playing in the Champions League.

However, Enrique wants both Turan and Aleix Vidal, who has joined from Sevilla, to work with the rest of the squad until January.

"We have not considered nor will we be thinking about sending Turan or Vidal out on loan," he told Marca.

"We would like them to train with us in order for them to get to know the team mechanism. We have great hope placed in them.

"The fact that they cannot play until January is a disadvantage but what I want is for them to be with us until then."

Enrique also shed light on Lionel Messi's absence from Barca's three-match tour of the United States.

Argentina international Messi and Brazil striker Neymar have been left out after playing for their countries in the Copa America.

"Messi's season is almost never-ending and he needs a rest," said Enrique. "He is not in the United States because he needs a break and that is not going to change."
