St Kilda have paired up their two first-round draft picks from last year for the first time in the AFL for Sunday's clash with Richmond.
Defender Hugh Goddard makes his Saints debut - the 10th player to make his bow since Alan Richardson took over as coach at the start of last year.
Goddard, who was the final selection in the first round of last November's AFL National Draft, comes into the side along with overall No.1 pick Paddy McCartin.
Part-time defensive coach Danny Frawley said of 18-year-old Goddard: "As far as first-year players go, he's been the consummate professional. He's ticked every box and hasn't missed a training session.
"He's tough, unrelenting, courageous and ready. He'll do well and some of the Richmond forwards will know he's played his first game, that's for sure."
McCartin and Goddard grew up playing for the Geelong Falcons and were also team-mates with Vic Country.
Richardson has named McCartin on the bench, while Goddard will start in the back pocket against the Tigers, who are 1.38.
The coach said of McCartin: "He has been the dominant forward at VFL for a few weeks now. He has been able to improve in certain areas of his game that he needed to address. He's embraced that and his attitude has been terrific."
The Saints have named skipper Nick Riewoldt after his calf recovered well from Thursday's training session.
Eli Templeton, who has not played in the AFL since round 8, comes in after booting two goals and collecting 17 disposals for Sandringham last weekend. Dropping out of the side are Seb Ross, Adam Schneider and Tim Membrey.
Richmond have brought back ruckman Ivan Maric after his one-week suspension. St Kilda are 1.93 with a 16.5-point start against the Tigers.
