The Warriors have agreed to release hooker Siliva Havili at the end of the season so he can join St George Illawarra.
Havili had a year left on his contract, but club coach Andrew McFadden was prepared to let him go to take up a two-year deal with the Dragons. The 22-year-old made his NRL debut last year against Canterbury Bulldogs and has played 11 first-grade games since.
McFadden said: "We have Issac Luke coming as our No 1 hooker next year, we also have Thomas [Leuluai] who can fill the role and we've just extended young Nathaniel Roache to the end of the 2017 season.
"We're happy to see Siliva have an opportunity to develop with another club but for now he's very much part of our plans for the rest of this season." The Warriors are 4/1 to finish in the NRL top four.
Havili played two games for Tonga in 2013 before earning a surprise call-up to New Zealand's side for last year's Anzac Test in Sydney. He was also named in the 24-man Kiwis squad for the Four Nations tournament last October but did not see game time.
Although Luke will take over the No.1 hooker spot next season, veteran Nathan Friend could also stay at the club after McFadden offered him a new one-year deal.
Meanwhile, fullback Sam Tomkins insists there are positives to take from the Warriors' 24-0 defeat to Sydney Roosters on Sunday. It was the first time the Auckland club have been kept scoreless for six years, and the game was out of their reach by half-time with the Roosters leading 18-0.
The defeat cost the Warriors their top-four spot, but Tomkins says the consolation is that they kept the home side off the scoreboard in the final 38 minutes.
He added: "The Roosters are a good team, there's no doubt about that, and in the second half it was just the one try we let in and we stuck with them for the rest of the game, which is especially pleasing given how beat up our forwards were from the first half."
The Warriors are 10/1 to reach the grand final.
