Greater Western Sydney stayed on course for a maiden AFL finals appearance with a hard-fought 15-point win over Gold Coast Suns.
Leon Cameron's side clinched victory thanks to small forward Devon Smith's efforts in the fourth quarter at Metricon Stadium.
The Giants have been in the top eight for all but two of the 15 rounds this year, and have now overcome a mid-season setback - they lost three in a row either side of the bye - with back-to-back victories.
GWS are 1.78 to win their next game against Geelong, who are 2.05.
Cameron was pleased to see his players respond positively after Gold Coast briefly held the lead in the final term, but wants them to keep their feet on the ground rather than get involved in finals hype.
"The more and more we play in these tough, tight games, the better off we're going to be," he said. "We are a young side knowing we're heading in the right direction.
"We've made some really great improvement this year. We're three games ahead of what we did last year in terms of wins, but we're not good enough to look that far ahead, yet.
"In saying that I don't want to put a ceiling on our young boys because they want to have a crack every week."
When the Suns, searching for just their second win in 10 games, grabbed the lead in the 10th minute of the final term with a Mitch Hallahan goal Smith came to the fore.
He kicked three quick goals and then set up the clincher with a pinpoint pass to Jeremy Cameron as GWS stayed one win inside the top eight - and level on points with fifth-placed Richmond.
Smith booted four goals in the match, to go with 27 disposals, six clearances and five tackles in a best-on-ground effort.
Greater Western Sydney are 1.91 conceding a 3.5-points start against Geelong.
