In-form North Queensland Cowboys have doubts over two players for Monday's meeting with Parramatta Eels.
Winger Matthew Wright and prop Matt Scott were hurt in the 30-12 win over Manly at Brookvale Oval and could miss the clash with the Eels, where Paul Green's side will be seeking a 14th win in 15 matches.
The Cowboys are 7/2 to win the NRL grand final, with the Eels 200/1.
Wright has been provisionally named in the team despite suffering a deep cut to his left hand. He was accidentally stepped on by Sea Eagles prop Willie Mason just before the end of the game.
Assistant coach David Furner said the club's initial fears that he had damaged tendons in his hand proved unfounded, but Wright was still very sore.
Asked about his chances of taking on the Eels, Furner said: "I think he will be all right. There is a bit of swelling on there, but other than that he will be okay."
Javid Bowen, a nephew of Cowboys games record holder Matthew Bowen, could come into the side for his debut if Wright is ruled out.
Scott was hurt in a tackle on Sea Eagles prop Josh Starling just after half-time and Furner said he wouldn't be risked unless he was 100 per cent.
"I don't think it's major, so it's just a matter of seeing what the scan comes up with and what the doctors say," he added.
"I think it was just a twist in the tackle. I know he tried to run on it and he was going to go back on, but the call by the medical staff and obviously 'Greeny' was to not send him back on."
Scott's likely replacement is 18th man Sam Hoare, who has dropped out of the side to accommodate the return of James Tamou from suspension.
