Centre Dane Gagai spent the night in hospital with a heart problem after Newcastle Knights' 30-2 win over Gold Coast at Hunter Stadium.
Gagai was rushed to Newcastle hospital at half-time after suffering an irregular heartbeat.
The 24-year-old Queensland State of Origin representative's condition is believed to be linked to a virus he was carrying into the game.
The Knights said in a statement on Sunday that Gagai had been discharged after his condition was stabilised. He will require another assessment by a cardiologist as a precaution, the club added.
The five-tries-to-none win snapped a six-game losing streak as Newcastle moved off the bottom of the NRL ladder.
The home side saw outstanding performances from five-eighth Jarrod Mullen and prop Kade Snowden, and had virtually secured the win when they changed round 20-2 in front.
The Titans had most of the early pressure, but only had a Daniel Mortimer penalty goal to show for their efforts.
The floodgates opened for the Knights when Kurt Gidley crossed in the 24th minute, and they added three more tries in the next 20 minutes.
Gidley leapt high to hold onto a Mullen bomb, and after winger Jake Mamo added another try Mullen set up the third of the game with a cheeky grubber as Tariq Sims gave the Knights a 16-point advantage.
Newcastle took just three minutes of the second half to add to their tally as James McManus helped set up Mullen for his first try of the season.
The result was beyond doubt, and hooker Danny Levi added gloss to the scoreline by burrowing his way over from dummy-half on 55 minutes.
Newcastle are 4.00 to win their next game against the Rabbitohs, who are 1.25.
Titans coach Neil Henry labelled his team's display "very poor". He added: "We were talking on the way down that we've conceded 68 points in two games and scored eight against sides that are below or around where we are.
"It's a reflection of our last two games - it hasn't been good enough," he said.
The Knights are 1.82 with a 12.5-points start against South Sydney.
