NRL PreviewCronulla Sharks v Sydney Roosters
Saturday, August 26, 7:30pm (AEST) at Southern Cross Group Stadium, Sydney

The 4th placed Sharks will host the 3rd placed Roosters in the match of the round. A loss by the Sharks could be fatal, with the Eels and Panthers ready to move into the Top 4 with a win this weekend. Both sides are unchanged from last week.
HistoryThe Sharks have won six straight against the Sydney Roosters, including three straight by 12 or more. The Sharks thumped the Roosters 44-12 when these sides met in Gosford earlier in the season. Sharks centre Ricky Leutele scored a double in the emphatic win.
FormCronulla ended a poor fortnight with a 26-16 win over North Queensland in a game they were never in danger in. The Sharks have conceded at least 16 points in their last three but have the third best defence in the premiership. They have a poor 5-6 record at home this year. The Sydney Roosters are third on the ladder with a 15-7 record. They ended a two-game losing streak with an unimpressive win over the lowly Wests Tigers at home on Saturday night. The Roosters rank seventh in scoring and fourth in defence this year.
Key MatchupJames Maloney v Luke Keary: Maloney has been a turnstile in defence all season but is the key if the Sharks are to score any points. He missed 10 tackles against the Cowboys last week, but had two line-breaks and two try assists. He also ran the ball 15 times for 105 metres.  Keary is at his best when he is running the ball and will look to expose any lazy Sharks defenders. He had a quiet game against the Tigers last week and will be looking for a big performance against the defending premiers.
Stats That Matter– Cronulla are 9-13 ATS with an 11-11 total record while the Sydney Roosters are 11-11 ATS with a 13-9 under record.

Final ThoughtsThe Sharks have been terrible at home this year, but The Wolf is expecting them to lift in a finals-quality encounter. They smashed the tri-colours earlier in the season and look to have the wood over the Roosters in recent years. Up, up Cronulla!
