After an extremely kind Champions League Group Stage draw for four of the five English clubs in the competition it is Tottenham that have been handed the toughest task in order to reach the last 16.

Mauricio Pochettino's men have been drawn in Group H alongside reigning champions Real Madrid - meaning a reunion with former Spurs favourite Gareth Bale - talented German outfit Borussia Dortmund, and last season's Cypriot champions APOEL FC.

The Lilywhite were drawn against Dortmund in the Europa League (matches played in March 2016) and lost both games - 1-2 at home and 3-0 in Germany - and it looks as though matches between the two clubs this season will be crucial to who qualifies to the knock-out stages with undeniable group favourites Real Madrid.

Immediately after the draw Tottenham drifted out to 46.00 in the Champions League Winner market.

Kind draw elsewhere

The four other English clubs received kinds draws and as a result, all shortened in the betting to win this season's Champions League.

Manchester United - available to back at 13.00 - were perhaps handed the easiest set of fixtures on paper, being drawn against Portuguese champions Benfica, FC Basel of Switzerland, and Russian outfit CSKA Moscow in Group A.

Manchester City can also be backed at 13.00 though they were drawn in the slightly tougher Group F containing Shakhtar Donetsk, Feyenoord, and probably their toughest opponents to top the group in Italian side Napoli.

With the Diego Costa saga still ongoing at Chelsea (16.50), it was perhaps inevitable that the Blues would be drawn against the club the striker is so desperate to join - Atletico Madrid - and that was the case. Both clubs will be confident of progressing however if they don't slip up against Italian outfit AS Roma, with minnows and Champions League debutants Qarabag offering a great opportunity to collect six points.

Elsewhere Liverpool (25.00) were another English club to be handed a kind draw as they will face Sevilla, Spartak Moscow, and Maribor in Group E, while Scottish champions Celtic at least avoided a British clash, but will instead have to face Bayern Munich, PSG, and Anderlecht.

Real Madrid remain the 5.10 favourites to defend their crown, just ahead of Barcelona and Bayern Munich - both at 8.20 - while PSG are the only other club trading at single figures, available to back at 9.20.
