Shaky starts for Basel and Benfica
Both Basel and Benfica tasted defeat in their opening games, making this a match that neither can afford to lose.
Basel's 3-0 loss away at Manchester United was a predictable scoreline against the heavy favourite in Group A, yet their domestic form has been far from consistent under their new manager Raphael Wicky. They have already lost three of their nine games in the Swiss Super League, as they look to defend the title that they have won in the last eight consecutive seasons.
Benfica's opening defeat could prove more problematic in regards to their qualification hopes. Despite taking the lead at home to CSKA Moscow, they eventually lost 2-1 and now face an uphill struggle to live up to expectations and make the knockout stages.
That defeat was quickly followed by another, as Benfica suffered their first loss of the season in the Primeira Liga, going down 2-1 to Boavista. They got back to winning ways at the weekend with a victory over Pacos de Ferreira, but are already five points behind the league leaders Porto.

Goals should flow between unpredictable teams
Both sides are in indifferent form, but it's Benfica that are rated as the favourites at 2.40.
This makes backing Benfica at 1.72 in the Draw No Bet market a possibility and the draw itself is tempting at 3.50, yet as these teams are in unpredictable form it makes more sense to look towards the goals markets.
Only Manchester United's very tight defence have stopped Basel from scoring this season, while Benfica have found the net in every fixture they've played. Back Both Teams To Score at odds of 1.80.

Recommended Bet
