Huddersfield's improbable rise
Huddersfield must have entered this Premier League season with low expectations. But that was probably similar last year too when, as outsiders for promotion, David Wagner's men came from nowhere to make a run at the play-offs - and even then only scraped through on penalties against Reading.
Once they reached the Premier League, their improbable rise has continued. They currently sit in eighth thanks to two wins and three draws from their opening sixth games and although it is still such an early stage in the season, the Terriers must be feeling increasingly optimistic at their chances of survival.
The arrival of club record signing Steve Mounie from Montpellier, his strike partner Laurent Depoitre and the permanent signing of playmaker Aaron Mooy all look like shrewd acquisitions and Terriers fans will be hoping those attacking threats can fire them to safety.

Unstoppable Kane inspiring Spurs
Mauricio Pochettino's men had their usual slow start to the season once again this year but are now starting to get back into the swing of things with five wins from six. They sit fourth in the Premier League table and have even managed two wins from two in the Champions League - putting the nightmare campaign of last year behind them.

There was a hint of a wobble when cruising in the London derby against West Ham last weekend. Serge Aurier's reckless dismissal saw them very nearly spurn a three goal lead, conceding late on to Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate. Nevertheless they managed to hang on there and then put any concerns about an impending slump to bed with a convincing 3-0 win over Apoel Nicosia in midweek.
At the heart of it all has been Harry Kane. The England forward scored a perfect hat-trick in Cyprus and has now found the net 25 times in this calendar year. It's hard to see his outstanding goal scoring form stopping any time soon. Huddersfield beware.

The caveat to Huddersfield's impressive start
Huddersfield have an impressive record at this early stage of the season, losing just one of their opening six league games and keeping four clean sheets along the way.
There should, however, be an asterisk next to their name in the league table. Much like Everton have had an horrific run of fixtures early on which has given them a warped position in the table, the Terriers have had a very easy start.
They beat a shambolic Crystal Palace on the opening day and an out-of-sorts Newcastle the following week, while struggling to beat mid-table sides Southampton and Leicester at home. The Terriers even gifted West Ham their sole win of the season and have scored just one goal in their past four games - yet they sit in the top half.

Tottenham will be Huddersfield's first test against one of the Premier League's big boys and Mauricio Pochettino's men are not a side to be complacent. In fact Spurs are truly clinical against smaller teams. Since the Argentine took charge in 2014/15, the north Londoners have won more points against newly-promoted opposition than any other team in the league.
Spurs come into this one as 1.42 favourites but with the Terriers struggling in front of goal it would be better to back the visitors to win to nil at odds of 2.12.

Can mouthwatering attack overcome stubborn defence?
Huddersfield's matches have witnessed fewer goals than any other side in the league so far this season (12 from six matches) and the markets don't heavily favour a high scoring affair.
Over 2.5 Goals is trading as the favourite at odds of 1.82 - with Unders at 2.16 - but there is then a large gap to Over 3.5 Goals which is trading at 2.96.
With Spurs having had the best defence for the past two seasons in the Premier League, it is hard to see them shipping many goals here (a Tottenham cleansheet at 10/11 on the Sportsbook looks decent value too).
It then comes down to the question of how much you fancy Huddersfield's backline to cope with a strike force of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and of course that man Kane.

Ref watch
Neil Swarbrick is taking charge of this one. The Lancastrian has handed out just 10 yellow cards from his four games so far this season and no reds. The 51-year-old also officiated in the Championship play-off final last season. Lucky omen for the Terriers?

Recommended bets
