Following their relegation from the top flight last season, nobody would expect Figueirense to be doing this badly in the second tier. I know it's still early on in the campaign, but they sit second from bottom having taken just nine points from their opening 10 matches.
Marcelo Cabo's side have won just twice and they were their opening two games of the campaign. Since then it's been five defeats and three draws, and even on this ground it's one point from a possible 12 since their opening 3-0 victory over Nautico - a teams who are currently rock bottom with two points.
The visitors are much higher up the table as they come into the game occupying 11th place. They've avoided defeat in 70% of their matches this term and all three of their losses came against clubs who are currently in the top half.
Their record away from home makes excellent reading as well, as they have won their two most recent outings - 3-1 at Santa Cruz and 3-0 at CRB. They did lose 1-0 at Ceara, but their only other road trip ended in a draw - which would do us just fine tonight.
I am struggling to twig why the Fig Tree are as short as they are for this clash, so with their price trading at around the 1.97 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
