England's under 21s face Germany on Tuesday evening with a place in the final of the European Under 21 Championship awaiting the winner.

The early betting suggests the fixture will mark the end of the road for Aidy Boothroyd's outfit with Germany, despite being the only group stage runners-up in the final four, the 2.10 Match Odds favourites in the early betting. England - who last made the final in 2009 when they lost to Germany - are not written off, however, and can be backed at around 3.30 to advance in 90 minutes.

The Young Lions opened up the tournament with a draw against defending champions Sweden but rattled off successive wins - a come-from-behind defeat of Slovakia and a 3-0 beating of hosts Poland - to top Group A and make the semi-finals.

Germany began the tournament with consecutive victories but were beaten 1-0 by Italy in their final Group fixture although that was a must-win for the Italians, whose 'prize' is a semi-final date with tournament favourites Spain, twice winners since 2011.

Albert Celades' side look a frightening prospect. Studded with La Liga talent, they have won all three fixtures so far conceding just once. It's little surprise that they occupy the favourites' slot in the outright betting at 2.22.

Both semi-finals will be played on Tuesday evening with England and Germany kicking off at 17:00 and Spain and Italy at 20:00.

Spain - 2.22
Germany - 4.20
Italy - 5.80
England - 6.20
