The U are rock bottom of the Eastern Conference and even if they won their game in hand they would only move up one place. They have been beaten in seven of their 15 matches this season, with the latest coming last weekend.
Jim Curtin's side were beaten on this ground by the New York Red Bulls and although they can point to having a man sent off when the score was 0-0, it was still a loss - and their third in a row.
DC United were in action on Wednesday night and although that can be seen as a negative, they won the game against Atlanta and in turn, put a 2-0 defeat to Toronto behind them.
Those concerned by the fact that they have lost their last two on the road should look a little further back, as prior to that, they won at Atlanta and Vancouver - victories which came on the back of a 2-2 draw in New England.
The hosts are far too short given all the form on offer, so with their price trading at around the 1.82 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
