NRL Preview
Manly Sea Eagles v Melbourne Storm

Saturday, April 15, 3pm (AEST), Lottoland, Sydney

It’s the battle of Brookvale once again or should we say Lottoland? This rivalry has built over the years since the 2007 and 2008 Grand Finals and has gone on from there. Martin Taupau is the major out for the Sea Eagles, while Storm centre Will Chambers will miss this week through suspension.
History
The Storm and Sea Eagles have split the last seven evenly with three wins apiece along with a draw with 4 of the last 5 topping 41 points. The Storm won last year’s corresponding clash at Brookvale 38-18, with Fijian flyer Suliasi Vunivalu scoring 4 tries.
Form
Manly’s hot run came to a stilting end last Saturday with their three-game win streak finished with an embarrassing 35-6 defeat at the hands of St George Illawarra. The Sea Eagles are a poor 1-3 at Brookvale in 2017. Melbourne opened the season with five straight wins but were ground down in a low-scoring dour affair on Sunday, losing 11-2 in a match that went tryless for 75 minutes. The Storm are conceding less than 10 points a game.
Key Matchup
Daly Cherry-Evans v Cooper Cronk. Cherry-Evans has been outstanding to start the season, but has been forced to do plenty of work in defence, with teams directing their attack at him. He has made a combined 73 tackles in the past two weeks. He’ll be pivotal if the Sea Eagles are to cause an upset on Saturday. Cronk will be happy that his announcement about leaving the Storm is behind him and can get back to doing what he does best. He’ll want to remind DCE what it takes to play in the Maroon No.7
Stats That Matter
Manly are 3-3 ATS with a 4-2 under record while Melbourne are 4-2 ATS with a 5-1 under record. The Storm and Sea Eagles have split the last seven evenly with three wins apiece along with a draw with 4 of the last 5 topping 41 points. The last 10 at Brookvale have been split evenly. Home outsiders who lost by 25-plus the start prior are 21-15 ATS.
Final Thoughts
All the signs point to a Storm victory, but The Wolf is a believer of the bounce back factor and is willing to back the Sea Eagles to cause an upset here. The Storm could be flat after a physical clash against the Sharks in wet conditions last week, while the Sea Eagles will come out with plenty of intensity.
